Introduction

Since monitoring exposure across states, local jurisdictions, and US territories can be complicated, the Exposure map was created to ensure you can easily visualize the scale of your exposure. This birds-eye view of your U.S. exposure will enable you to track seamlessly how far you are from complete tax compliance.  

Anrok tracks your physical and economic nexus against each jurisdiction's threshold requirements. Anrok monitors all jurisdiction-specific tests and their respective units of measurement for you.

Each potential exposure status for a jurisdiction

CleanShot 2023-11-14 at 16.53.31@2x.png — This represents a jurisdiction where you have not yet met one or more of the jurisdiction's nexus thresholds or none of your products are taxable in the jurisdiction. We recommend reviewing whether any employee in this jurisdiction will require a physical nexus update. See Manage physical nexus information.

approaching_status_anrok.png — This represents a jurisdiction that is over 80% of the taxing jurisdiction's revenue and/or transaction threshold. We recommend getting a head start on registering in these jurisdictions to avoid any sales tax exposure when you meet the nexus threshold.

exposed_status_anrok.png — This represents a jurisdiction that has reached its economic and/or physical nexus exposure threshold. These jurisdictions likely have an exposed sales amount, so we recommend immediately starting the registration process to begin collecting and remitting sales tax to them. processing_registration_status_anrok.png — This represents a jurisdiction that is currently in the process of registration. We recommend checking for emails from registrations@anrok.com for any required next steps. See Check-in on processing registrations.

remitting_status_anrok.png — This represents a jurisdiction that is currently remitting and filing. We recommend reviewing your taxable products in the jurisdiction and looking over any currently open returns.

 

 

Use the interactive Exposure map

You can utilize the Exposure map to keep track of your exposure status across the United States and get a sense of how far you are from complete sales tax compliance.

  1. In the Anrok app CleanShot 2023-07-20 at 12.02.21@2x.png, go to Dashboard. Take me there!
  2. Under Exposure map, review the status of each state jurisdiction.
  3. Under Local & territory exposure, review the status of each local and territory jurisdiction.
  4. Click on a jurisdiction to be directed to its jurisdiction details page.
