🔍 Regulatory Update
SaaS businesses are facing numerous changes in sales tax rules as governments worldwide implement new digital tax regulations. These changes can vary from state to state and country to country, so Anrok ensures that software companies operating in multiple locations can stay up to date.
Important policy changes:
- Maryland expanding sales tax application to stream services — Maine will apply its 5.5% sales tax to streaming platforms, including Netflix, Hulu, and Spotify, starting January 1, 2026. [Learn more]
- Romania planning increase in standard VAT rate — Romania plans to increase its standard VAT rate from 19% to 21%. This change, which will take effect on August 1, 2025, aims to reduce public spending and increase state revenue. [Learn more]
- Florida considering sales tax rate reduction — Florida is considering a law that would cut the sales tax rate from 6% to 5.25%, meaning consumers would pay less tax on most purchases if the bill passes. 📢 Key Anrok Update
We've just released our comprehensive 2025 mid-year tax report, analyzing the most significant tax developments affecting modern businesses in the first half of this year. 🚀 Product Update

New features and changes:
- QuickBooks Online Estimates support — Anrok now supports tax calculation for QuickBooks Online Estimates. If you use QBO Estimates and would like Anrok to power those tax calculations, please reach out to Technical Solutions (technicalsolutions@anrok.com) to add this feature to your QBO integration.
- Two new HRIS integrations supported in beta — Anrok recently added two new HRIS integrations in beta: Sequoia One and ADP Workforce Now.
