Introduction
This guide outlines the process for linking your Rillet account with Anrok. This will allow you to automatically synchronize transactions and update sales tax on your Rillet invoices.
Step 1
Update your Accounting setting
Before connecting Rillet to your Anrok account, you must update your Accounting settings. This step is critical for tracking real-time updates between Anrok and Rillet.

In the Anrok app
, go to Settings. Take me there!
- Next to Accounting, click Edit, then select the time zone that matches your Rillet account.
- When you are finished, click Save.
Step 2
Generate an Anrok API key
To connect with Anrok, you will need to provide Rillet with your Anrok API key. Providing this key ensures that your Anrok and Rillet accounts will be able to communicate effectively.

In the Anrok app
, go to Settings. Take me there!
- Under Developers, click Manage API Keys.
- Click New key, then in the Notes field, enter a title or internal notes for the API key.

Click Create key, then copy
the Key ID and Secret.
Tip
Save these values in a password manager or secure environment in case you need them at a later date.
- When you are finished, click Ok.
Step 3
Connect to Anrok
Once you’ve updated your Accounting settings and generated an Anrok API key, you can begin connecting your Rillet account with Anrok.

In the Rillet app
, click your company logo in the lower-left corner. Select Organization Settings > Integrations. Take me there!
- Under Payments & Tax, select Anrok.
- Enter your Anrok API key.

Set the Sync Data From Date to specify when Anrok should start automating tax calculations.
- All invoices created after this date will include automatic tax calculations.
- Invoices created before this date will either omit tax calculations or use manually entered tax data.
Note
All invoices after this date must be unpaid in order to successfully connect Anrok.
- When you are finished, click Next Step.
Step 4
Add your Rillet items as product IDs in Anrok
In Anrok, you can create tax categories called product IDsProduct ID
They describe the specific product or service that was sold to your customer.
Each product ID you sell must be mapped to a corresponding tax configuration in Anrok, which signals what taxability ruleset to apply to the product.. These product IDs are the key driver for calculating taxability. See What are product IDs?

In the Anrok app
, go to Product IDs. Take me there!
- Click Add product.
- Under Product name, enter the name for your Anrok product.
- Under Product ID, create a unique Product ID.
- Under Assign a tax configuration, select a corresponding Product type and Tax category for each product. See Select a tax configuration.
- When you are finished, click Save.
Step 5
Map Anrok product IDs to Rillet
When integrating Rillet with Anrok, each product in Rillet must have an associated tax category from Anrok. Make sure to copy the exact product IDs from Anrok to avoid errors during mapping.

- Assign an Anrok product ID for minimum commitments and other products.
Note
If you have a long product list, use the default product ID option simplify mapping. Then only update products that require different tax categories from your default.
- When you are finished, click Finish setup to apply the integration settings.
Step 6
Import historical transactions
Importing your historical transactions will be key to maintaining a complete picture of your economic nexus exposure. To import historical transactions: export historical transactions from Rillet in CSV format and then backfill historical transactions to Anrok with CSV import.
