Monitor your transactions

Introduction

Once your transactions are automatically syncing into Anrok from your billing system, it can be helpful to monitor them. Reviewing transactions helps ensure the accuracy of your financial records and tax compliance with jurisdiction standards and regulations. It also allows you to identify any errors or inconsistencies that must be corrected promptly.

The hierarchy for billing address information in Anrok is Shipping address > Billing address > Payment method metadata. When a shipping address is provided, Anrok prioritizes it as the customer's applicable address.

Review a transaction

You can review your transactions to review customer details, validate VAT IDs, and see how products are being taxed.

Try reviewing your transactions in the demo above ☝️

  1. In the Anrok app CleanShot 2023-07-20 at 12.02.21@2x.png, go to Transactions. Take me there!
  2. Under the All or Unassociated tab, select a transaction. You can filter the transactions by Start date, End date, Jurisdictions, and VAT ID validation statuses.
  3. Review the Sales amount, Tax amount, and Invoice amount.

If the tax amount has an asterisk (*) next to the value, this indicates that the tax amount occurred during a period in which the jurisdiction was in a "Paid by seller" status. This means tax was calculated for the transaction, but not synced to the invoice in your billing system for customer collection. See Change a jurisdiction's tax collection method.

  4. Review the Customer, Address, and whether an Exemption certificate was applied. See Upload an exemption certificate.
  5. Review the associated Jurisdiction and the return the transaction has been included in. If this transaction is associated with an international jurisdiction, you can review whether the Customer VAT ID was valid valid_VAT ID_anrok.png, invalid invalid_VAT ID_anrok.png, missing missing_VAT ID_anrok.png, or unknown unknown_vat_status_anrok.png. See Enable VAT ID validation for global jurisdictions.
  6. Review the Accounting date and Tax date.
  7. Under Jurisdiction summary, review the jurisdiction type, total sale amount, blended tax rate, and total tax amount.
  8. Under Transaction detail, review the product names and product IDs included in the transaction, along with their line amounts, blended tax rates, and tax amounts. To view the blended tax rate separated by local jurisdiction, click the Drop-down button  dropdown_button_anrok.png  next to a line item.
